OMG! you guys!!!!

So this past weekend my buddies and I headed to Atlanta to attend Steeplechase and all I can say is…WTF?!

I can honestly go anywhere with these boys and have the best time and this trip was no exception. I think we all had, what felt like, a total of 4 hrs of sleep over a 3 day period. Haha!

Upon arrival Friday evening we all mostly chilled because it was late when the whole crew arrived due to some freakin heavy traffic and people coming in from New York, Nashville and Alabama. I think I finally passed out around 5:00am only to wake up at 8 to start getting ready for the event.

The weather this year was quite different than the year prior. Last year it was so hot I was sweating like a whore in church but this year was the exact opposite. It was freezing and wet which made it almost unbearable. Luckily we started drinking when we got there and there were space heaters so the fact that I was cold didn’t even cross my mind. haha!

With great food and PLENTY of alcohol we all had such a great day hanging out together and just enjoying life. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it? creating moments with the most important people in your life? I tend to think so and I can honestly say some great memories were made this year.

We left steeplechase around 4ish with everyone is tact…for the most part. haha! We had to make a pit-stop for a bathroom run and I had to literally guide one of my buddies to the outhouse behind a gas station. Let’s just say that was an experience. haha! It ended with people asking if he was ok. haha! #SMH

After we finally made it back to the house, we took a quick hour nap before getting showered and ready to go to dinner and out on the town. A night out in Atlanta with these guys is NEVER dull. We got home around 3ish and crashed immediately. Awaking the next morning, we slowly gathered what was left of our dignity off the floor and strutted our asses to brunch. I can tell you…nothing tastes as good as a freakin hot meal after a day full of drinking. haha!

After brunch we headed back to the house to finish packing up the car and say our goodbyes. I personally hate goodbyes. It literally makes me sad every time I have to say it to someone and especially the people I care so much about and cherish. The fact that I don’t get to see these guys as often as I like only makes me cherish the moments we do get to spend together that much more which in turn makes goodbyes harder for me. I wear my heart on my sleeve and am a total softy when it comes to some things. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. haha!

All in all it was a fantastic trip that I can’t wait to go back to next year. Not only for steeplechase but just so I can see these guys again and us all be together to make more great memories.

If there’s any takeaway from this blog post I hope it’s that you cherish those around you that are most important in your life. Life is too short to surround yourself with those that do not truly love you and have your best interest at heart. If you rid yourself of those people it leaves your heart wide open to invest in relationships that are true and pure. That’s what I have in these guys and love them dearly.

Ok! enough with the mushy mushy. Love you guys and hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
