This blog post was created as part of a paid partnership with ANGOSTURA® bitters.

It’s officially the holiday season! One of my absolute favorite things about this time of year is getting to spend time with my loved ones. Even though the holidays tend to be a bit crazy and everyone seems to be going everywhere at once, I still get to spend more time with those I care about during this time of year and I love it.

Another reason I love this time of year is eggnog. Yep! Eggnog. This Yuletide drink is one thing I look forward to every winter season. For those of you who, like me, can’t get enough of this indulgent cocktail, I’ve partnered with ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters to craft the perfect recipe for sharing with loved ones.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

The key to any good recipe is the ingredients you use. Get quality ingredients and you’ll never go wrong. Here is a list of ingredients and instructions to set you on your merry way:

Sugar n Spice n Everything Nice Eggnog:

Makes 4 cocktails

6 egg yolks

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 cup brandy

1/4 cup bourbon

1/4 oz. ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters

Cinnamon sticks, to garnish

Peppermint candy canes, to garnish

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, beat yolks at medium speed with an electric mixer until frothy. Gradually beat in milk, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. This, my friends, is homemade whip cream!

Stir brandy, bourbon and ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters into the bowl with whipped cream. Chill until you’re ready to serve, then pour into a festive glass of your choice. Garnish each glass with fresh, grated cinnamon and throw in a peppermint candy cane for a little extra festive flare.

There you have it. A great-tasting cocktail for holiday entertaining sure to impress your guests. The ingredient that adds true character to this cocktail is ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters. Although the cocktail essential is a staple within a range of drinks, you may be surprised to learn that ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters was founded in 1824 as an aromatic essence for medicinal purposes. Its primary application has since evolved into the leading cocktail bitters, used by high-end cocktail lounges, dive bars and home bartenders alike all around the globe. Just a few dashes will elevate and enhance any recipe, transforming mixed drinks into cocktails.

Be sure to pick up your own bottle of ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters at grocery or liquor stores nationwide to elevate your cocktails all season long.

Enjoy!
