The Holiday

Happy Holidays my friends. I honestly can’t believe how FAST this year has gone by. I swear…the older I get the faster time goes and i’m NOT ok with this.

So I have been SUPER busy the last few months and have been in desperate need of a holiday. Luckily Eric & Samantha Coghlan came to my rescue. They are the proud owners of Pot N Kettle Cottages in Liepers Fork, TN.

I had the pleasure of staying in one of their cottages…”Pickers Cottage” to be exact, which was pretty amazing. Some of my friends Ben & Ryan…2 of the coolest guys you’ll ever meet…came to stay the weekend with me and we had some good guy time. Upon our arrival we unpacked our cars and right away began to light a fire in the fire pit out back. The night consisted of deep life talks, homemade potato soup with rosemary garlic bread…oh! oh! and how could I forget the BEST homemade chocolate chip cookies i’ve literally EVER HAD. Ryan…I’m still waiting for the recipe FYI haha!

The next morning I awoke to the smell of cinnamon dolce coffee and laughter from the living room which warmed my soul. We relaxed on the couch watching the Food Network…b/c who doesn’t like to watch The Pioneer Woman & Trisha Yearwood cook up some delicious food? after building up our appetites we began cooking a country breakfast full of pancakes, bacon, eggs and of course…more coffee. With our stomachs full we got dressed for the day and proceeded to venture into downtown Leipers Fork. We stopped by Serenite Maison, which is proudly owned by Alex Cirimelli, to say hello. A quick hello to Marty, one of the sweetest ladies you’ll ever meet, and we ventured on. Our journey continued going into West & Company, The Copper Fox & another one of my favorite shops…David Arms. If you haven’t been…you need to go and you’ll understand why it’s one of my favorites. Just sayin!

After spending most of the day downtown Leipers Fork it was time to head back to the cottage. Ben & Ryan had to leave due to another engagement they had early the next day so I had the place all to myself that night which was filled with hot coffee, Christmas movies & dinner from Puckett’s restaurant.

All in all…it was a great weekend and can’t wait to go back. Again, I thank Eric & Samantha for a great stay and for being such great hosts. You guys really are the best and we had such a wonderful time :).
